Up and Coming Leader Award

The Up & Coming Leader Award provides financial assistance to attend the National Emergency Nurses Association Leadership conference held in January. Nurses who have not previously received the award are eligible to be nominated by their chapter/Chapter President. Nominees should be someone who has displayed “up and coming leadership” values and/or has gone over and above in achievement for the Chapter. Each Chapter (through the Chapter President or designee) may nominate one member each year. Nominations are forwarded to the MSC president at least 1 week prior to the November State Council meeting. The winner is determined by the MN State Council (MSC) representatives at the November MN State Council meeting in the fall for the following year’s National ENA Leadership Conference. After reviewing the blinded applications, members of the MSC (or the committee designated) cast ballots naming their choice. The person with the most votes receives the award. The MSC president votes only to break a tie. This award covers the ‘early member’ registration to the national ENA Leadership conference. After a motion to do so, the ballots are destroyed. Chapter Presidents must have their nomination for the following/next year’s conference submitted to the MN State President (mn.president@state.ena.org) for consideration 1 week prior to the November meeting.
