Whenever you’re not in your vehicle, you’re a pedestrian. Walking provides essential connections between residential, retail, and commercial land uses as well as access to public transit, especially in urban and suburban areas. Unfortunately, walking has become increasingly risky in recent years, whether you’re walking the dog, traveling to work or school, exercising, or just taking a stroll. In this presentation, you’ll learn about efforts to increase the safety of people who walk from various “E” perspectives, including engineering, enforcement, education, and EMS.
